Rebecca Townsend

Rebecca Townsend is the founding member of the UK's premier female equestrian display team - Jive Pony. Rebecca has been a vaulter from a young age and has represented Great Britain at European and International level, both as an individual and as part of a team. She held the British National Individual Championship title for seven years in succession and retired undefeated.

After retiring from competitive vaulting, Rebecca studied Drama in London for three years and after graduating performed in a variety of shows including street acrobatics with a Brazilian tumbling troupe. She then ran away with Gifford Circus for three years where she met Ronan her horse and combined her love of both acting and vaulting skills.

Upon leaving the circus Rebecca began work on forming her own unique show to incorporate her expert vaulting skills and passion for acting and dance. In 2005 and after several months of training and rehearsals, Jive Pony was born and Rebecca along with Ronan were to make an immediate and positive impression on the crowds at their first show together.

Rebecca's drive to succeed has seen Jive Pony grow year on year, performing to bigger and bigger crowds across the whole of the UK as their unique show continues to entertain the whole family with their equine vaulting stunts and energetic routines.
